Professor of Biological Sciences at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of Silesia in Katowice. Ecologist and acarologist (specializing in mite ecology). Environmental ethicist, ecological educator, nature conservation and climate activist. An "Ethic expert" at the European Commission in Brussels, a member of the Expert Team on ethical issues at the National Science Centre, a member of the Team Europe Direct expert network (European Commission), and a member of the Climate Council at the United Nations Global Compact Network Poland.

Organizer and co-host of the Ecological Thoughts Club (meetings since 2012). Author of numerous lectures, workshops, and courses at his home university, as well as other universities in Poland and abroad, and for various other institutions.

He collaborates with local, national, and international media as an expert in ecology and environmental protection, climate crisis, and is a science popularizer.

In his introduction, he emphasizes that he is an Earthling, a representative of placental mammals, one of the millions of species inhabiting our wonderful Earth, and prides himself on being titled the greatest humanist among naturalists, awarded by the ICBEH at the University of Silesia.
